Nicola Adams has broken her silence after she was forced to pull out of Strictly Come Dancing because her dance partner Katya Jones tested positive for Covid-19.
The 38-year-old Olympic medallist, who made history by appearing in the first same-sex couple on the dance show, has thanked her fans for their overwhelming support throughout her Strictly journey.
Taking to her social media page, the sports star explained that her fans had 'brightened up her day'.
Although Nicola tested negative for coronavirus, she had to pull out of the show and is required to self-isolate for 14 days because she has been in close contact with her professional partner.
Opening up about her journey, Nicola expressed her appreciation to all the kind messages she had received.
"I just wanted to say thank-you for the lovely messages and the support, its been unbelievable and I did not expect such a nice response," she said in the video.

"Not just to me but to everybody else aswell.
Nicola added: "And I just want you to know that regardless of the situation I will continue to break boundaries and make changes and continue fighting for what's right and, just thank-you for having my back and being there when I needed you."
Since sharing the message, Nicola has also been inundated with even more messages from her 186,000 Instagram followers.

Nicola's touching message came shortly after it was confirmed that the couple will no longer be able to compete after Katya Jones tested positive for coronavirus.
The couple – who were in the dance off last week – are not expected to be replaced because they are almost in the middle of the competition.
Several Strictly crew members are also believed to be isolating after coming into contact with Katya.
It Takes Two presenter Rylan Clark-Neal has also been forced to pull out after being in contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19.

The judge has since explained to fans that she will now isolate for two-weeks at home in adherence with UK quarantine regulations.
Dance star Anton Du Beke is expected to replace Motsi as a temporary judge.
