After months of anticipation, Google finally unveiled its Google Pixel 5 smartphone at the end of last month.
The Pixel 5 has a number of impressive features, including 5G connectivity, a rear fingerprint sensor and a hole-punch camera.
Google explained: "5G is the latest in mobile technology, bringing fast download and streaming speeds to users around the world. Whether you’re downloading the latest movie, listening to your favourite music on YouTube Music, catching up on podcasts with Google Podcast or playing a game on Stadia, Pixel 5 will provide you with fast speeds.”
Now, Mirror Online’s Deputy Science and Technology Editor, Shivali Best has tested the Pixel 5 herself, and picked out five key features that she loves.
Here’s the five features we love in Google’s new flagship smartphone.

1. 5G connectivity
Google fans were delighted to hear that the Google Pixel 5 features 5G connectivity.
During testing, Mirror Online was able to download a film within seconds on the 5G network, making it perfect for people who love catching up with the latest programmes on the go.
It’s worth noting that you’ll need to have a 5G contract and be in an area with access to the 5G network to use this feature.
2. Ultra-wide rear lens
Google’s Pixel smartphones have also been known for their cameras, and the Pixel 5 is no different.
The smartphone features a 12.2 MP rear lens alongside a 16MP ultra-wide lens.
This is ideal for taking wide landscape images, or even for taking photos of large groups of friends, without having to squeeze everyone on top of one another!
At £599, the smartphone won’t break the bank, but has many of the same features of more expensive handsets

3. Super light
One of the most surprising features that we enjoyed was just how light the Pixel 5 is.
Measuring just 5.7 x 2.8 x 0.3 in and weighing 151g, the Pixel 5 is one of the lightest smartphones we’ve held.
That’s not to say that the screen has been compromised in any way though – Google has ultra-slim bezels to ensure the smartphone still has a large 6-inch display.
4. Wireless charging
Google has included wireless charging in the Pixel 5, allowing you to quickly charge the smartphone without faffing about with wires.
The smartphone also has a handle feature called Battery Share, that allows you to wirelessly charge your Pixel Buds through the smartphone – ideal if your headphones die while you’re out and about!
