Bruno Fernandes insists he joined Manchester United to win trophies.

United's £47million midfielder has issued a defiant message to his team-mates – despite a poor start to the season which has seen the pressure cranked up on boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Fernando believes playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world comes with a responsibility to lift titles and trophies.

Fernandes, talking on United's official podcast , said: “For me, to come to a club like Manchester United is the same as why I went to Sporting – it was to win trophies.

“I come to Manchester with the same mentality. For me, it doesn’t matter about the other teams.
