Former EastEnders actor Nick Berry stunned with his unrecognisable appearance as he stepped out with a huge beard this week.

The 57-year-old, who played Simon Wicks on the BBC One soap back in the 80s, made a visit to his local tip in Essex and revealed the new facial hair he has grown during the coronavirus lockdown.

Nick looked extremely different to the character he played on-screen years ago.

The dashing silver fox looked happy and healthy as he stepped out in a huge coat and hoodie, which he paired with jeans to beat the winter chill.

The star was joined by his wife Rachel Robertson on the trip, and they were seen dropping off some home items after having a huge clearout.

However Nick gave up on his acting career aged 39 as he wanted to be a stay-at-home dad.

He previously told MailOnline: "I chose to be a stay-at-home dad and have loved it.

"I always said that when the boys were teenagers I could go back, but the longer you don't do something the harder it is to do it, and I haven't really missed it.

"While I'd never say never, I'm genuinely happy as I am."
