Looking for your next exciting lunchtime treat? Well Pret A Manger has taken Veganuary to a new level. They are launching a meatless version of the iconic Swedish Meatball Hot Wrap. Partnering with British pioneers of plant-based, Meatless Farm, the Meatless Meatball Hot Wrap is a new way to get your veggie fix this year.

Also available via Deliveroo, fans can expect to see Pret’s classic pork recipe transformed into a meatless feast of plant-based meatballs, red tapenade, chipotle ketchup and topped with a sprinkling of crispy onions. In a meat alternative first for Pret, the bespoke meatballs from Meatless Farm use a range of plant proteins to create a meaty, succulent texture and taste.

Morten Toft Bech, Meatless Farm’s Founder, said: “Pret A Manger has paved the way in making it easier for us all to eat less meat. We have worked closely with them to recreate a plant-based version of their classic Swedish Meatball Hot Wrap that appeals to meat eaters, veggies and vegans alike.

“Now more than ever people are recognising the virtues of eating plant-based food, whether it’s for health, the planet or animal welfare. This menu addition makes eating more of it just that bit easier – for Veganuary, and beyond.”

Briony Raven, UK Food & Coffee Director at Pret said: “Veganuary is a great opportunity for people to kick start the new year and try a more sustainable way of eating. At Pret we’ve long offered vegans, veggies and ‘flexies’ a wide variety of options for breakfast, lunch and now dinner.

“As trailblazers in vegan food, we’re really proud of our new Meatless Meatball Hot Wrap. We’ve worked hard to create something that has the Pret taste and quality of one of our classics that our customers expect. To encourage more people to try the new plant-based meat alternative hot wrap, we’ve decided to pull our Swedish Meatball wrap for a month as we’re that confident our customers will quickly fall in love with it.”

Now in its eighth year, Veganuary inspires people to try a vegan diet for January and beyond. Veganuary 2021 is expected to be the biggest to date, with over a million subscribers anticipated for the first time and backing from a host of celebrities.
