A mum-of-eight who is battling coronavirus is isolating in her bedroom while the rest of the family remain downstairs.

Marie Buchan, 38, tested positive for the deadly virus on Monday and is suffering from breathlessness, fits of coughing, a sore throat and nose bleeds.

The mum, from Selly Oak, Birmingham, has described the situation as a "complete nightmare" due to being away from her children," Birmingham Live reports.

"I feel absolutely awful. I started getting symptoms on Saturday like a sore throat and started to feel breathless but I didn't think it was Covid at first," Marie said.

"I was advised by my doctor to get a test which I did on the Monday and it proved to be positive for Covid.
