Secret Reprieve won the Coral Welsh Grand National at Chepstow.

The Evan Williams-trained gelding galloped clear of his 17 rivals to take Saturday's big race, run in memory of Kim Gingell.

Adam Wedge's mount was sent off as the 5-2 favourite in the betting.

Williams said: "

Wedge had earlier had two falls and rode the winner with his left arm strapped up.

"It is madness. It's very up and down, but hey we do it because we love it," Wedge said.

Adagio (5-2) had earlier taken the Grade 1 Coral Finale Juvenile Hurdle for David Pipe and Tom Scudamore.

Bryony Frost also recorded a double on the Paul Nicholls pair Pozo Emery and Storm Arising.

They were part of a 10,419-1 seven-timer across Saturday's cards for the Ditcheat handler.
