Alexis Sharkey was allegedly "strangled to death" before her naked body was found on the side of the road.
The influencer's death has been ruled as homicide by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, on Tuesday, the New York Post has reported.
The 26-year-old social media star had disappeared on November 27, with her body being found less than 24 hours later.
It has been alleged that her naked body had been "carefully placed" at the side of the road, in Houston, Texas.
A truck driver spotted the body when he saw a pair of feet sticking out from underneath some bushes.
Alexis' body was found just a few miles from her apartment.

Speaking to KTRK-TV, Tom said: "We didn’t fight when she left. I just told her she couldn’t drive under the influence.
"She left anyhow. This is where we’re at."
While Tom denied that they had a bust-up before she left, he did say "there's always other sides to everything."
He added: "I don't need to set the record straight.
"I'll let it play out the way it is. I know what my life was with my wife."
The Houston Police Department has said that the death of Alexis is still under investigation and that no arrests or charges have been made as yet.
