Other than himself, the most important people in Donald Trump’s life are the two women closest to him.
Wife Melania, 50, and daughter Ivanka, 39, are known in White House circles as possibly the only ones on the planet able to reign in the US President.
Yet although their relationships with Donald may be strong, the two loathe one another, with the First Lady calling her stepdaughter a “snake”.
Ivanka, meanwhile, will seemingly do anything to undermine Melania.
As Donald’s presidency ends today, sources close to the women say their already fragile relationship is in ruins.

Four years ago when the Trumps moved into the White House, “both were respectful of one another’s turf”.
Now the tension is said to be so bad they can hardly stand the sight of each other.
A source told the Mirror: “As First Lady, Melania felt Ivanka was trying to take her place. For Ivanka, Melania was a hindrance to what she wanted to achieve. ”
Melania’s former best pal, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, claims their hatred can be traced back to the Trump administration’s early days.
Ivanka had reportedly suggested renaming the White House’s “First Lady’s Office” to “First Family Office”.

Mrs Trump ridiculed Ivanka, nicknaming her “princess”.
Many people believe Melania to be the most ineffective First Lady ever.
Ivanka, daughter of Donald’s ex-wife Ivana, served in official roles such as adviser to the President.
Her dad – who once said he would date her if she weren’t his daughter – has touted her as a future president.
Now, while most eyes will be on Donald’s next move, many ask what will become of his favourite women.

Melania Trump 'made true feelings towards Donald clear in split-second unplanned move'
Ever since meeting and then marrying Donald Trump in 2005, Melania has lived in the lap of luxury.
She waited for months in New York after her husband’s 2017 inauguration to move into the White House with their son, Barron.
Unlike Ivanka Trump whose pals have reportedly deserted her, the First Lady doesn’t have such a problem.
According to her former pal Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, the Slovenian Sphinx, as she is called, only has one friend as it is.
Melania is poised to move with Trump and their 14-year-old son to their Mar-A-Lago estate in Florida.
However, neighbours are fighting it, arguing local laws ban anyone from living at the property full time.
Melania Trump has shown no real interest in politics
Ten 'crimes' that could land Donald Trump in jail as cases mount against President
Melania has been the most invisible of First Ladies and has shown no real interest in politics.
After Trump’s election win, she is said to have cried in despair at the thought of having the title.
On Friday, she was accused of hypocrisy by social media users after posting a message about her campaign to promote the well-being of children and stop online bullying, given that she has glossed over her husband’s Twitter attacks and the placement of migrant kids in cages.
In 2018, she famously wore a jacket emblazoned with “I really don’t care, do you?” during a trip to a migrant child detention centre.
Melania has also refused to reach out to Jill Biden – a never-before-broken tradition between outgoing and incoming First Ladies.
There are rumours Melania Trump could write a book
Unconventional and unpredictable, Melania now faces the task of deciding what the next phase of her life will look like.
Most people on the Hill believe she will want nothing more than to return to her life of devoted mum and wealthy lady of leisure, travelling between Trump’s various estates.
However, over the past 12 months, she has become increasingly vocal about those who criticise her.
There are even rumours she could write a book to set a few records straight.
Many people believe Melania to be nothing like her husband, but over the past year, former friends have broken ranks to say she is more aligned to him and his beliefs than imagined.
It is why many believe she will use a book deal to settle some scores.
Donald and Melania Trump have been showing signs of strain
When Melanija Knavs arrived in the US on a tourist visa in 1996, she lived a modest life.
After the car salesman’s daughter met Donald Trump in 1998, her luck changed.
She obtained US citizenship on an “Einstein Visa” reserved for immigrants with “extraordinary ability” and lived a gilded life.
But now she is leaving the East Wing of the White House, bookies are taking bets on whether she will leave Trump too.
Signs of strain between them have often been seen, with Melania refusing to hold his hand in public.
The pair are reported to sleep in separate beds and before moving to DC she renegotiated her prenup.
However, the couple could find comfort in each other as they suddenly find their social circles depleted.

Once the darling of New York’s elite, she has become an outcast in the circles she once lived.
Ivanka has been based in Washington, DC with husband Jared Kushner and their kids since 2017. As the family name grows increasingly toxic, one thing is for sure – Ivanka is not returning to the Big Apple.
Ivanka and Jared are said to be buying a plot at Indian Creek
The couple is said to be close to buying a £22million plot on Miami’s Indian Creek island – known as Billionaire’s Bunker.
Any home there would be near Jared’s Democrat brother Josh and supermodel wife Karlie Kloss.
However, the women fell out after Kloss rebuked her in-laws for refusing to accept Trump lost the election.
Donald Jnr, Donald and Ivanka Trump
When Donald Trump incited a mob on Capitol Hill earlier this month, he didn’t just complicate his political future, he destroyed his kids’ political careers as well – and none more so than Ivanka’s.
For many Republicans, the storming of the Capitol fuelled by the President made the Trump family no longer electable.
But Ivanka has inherited enough of her father’s tone-deafness and self-belief to assume that she too has a shot at the Oval Office.

There is talk of her challenging Florida Senator Marco Rubio and her husband Jared Kushner is reportedly “working single-mindedly to protect and promote his wife’s political career”.
Trump’s ally Tom Barrack, a real estate billionaire and mega-donor, has also been pressing fellow Republican financiers to put together a plan involving Ivanka taking a run at the biggest job in American politics.
Ivanka was the best known Trump child
From her Chinese-made jewellery and clothing brands to her books and reality TV stardom, Ivanka was the best-known Trump child even before the White House.
With her role on the US version of The Apprentice helping raise her profile, she was invaluable to her father in his 2016 election win. Now 39 and a TV veteran, producers will want her power on their shows.
It’s likely networks are already offering her big-money deals.
However, with her father reportedly planning to start his own TV channel, Ivanka could hold out for a role on that network.
Lucrative book deals are also said to have been offered, with seven-figure sums mentioned in reports.

Should Ivanka Trump launch a political career? Let us know in the comments section below
Known for living in their own bubble, Ivanka and husband Jared Kushner have the strongest marriage in the Trump family.
Known singularly as Javanka, the parents of three children became one of the most powerful couples in America – with Jared one of the few men to have the President’s ear.
Orthodox Jew Jared and Catholic Ivanka have been married for 11 years and their partnership was once described as the “best business transaction” in Manhattan.
He calls Ivanka the CEO of their household. She admires his ambition, applauding his work ethic.
With fewer and fewer friends between them after their toxic time around the White House, expect them to find even further unity in Florida exile.
