Jake Paul will begin training for his boxing return shortly with coach BJ Flores saying it's 'about time to get back to work'.

The YouTube star is still on the lookout for an opponent for his highly anticipated fourth pro fight, and is currently in Puerto Rico with his brother Logan in preparation for his exhibition with Floyd Mayweather in June.

Paul has been taking time out from training after fighting Nate Robinson at the end of November 2020 and turning around within a few months to fight Ben Askren in April.

However, he hasn't been far from the headlines, antagonising top combat sport athletes like Mayweather and UFC champions Kamaru Usman and Daniel Cormier, as well as building a feud with UFC promoter Dana White.

It is expected that Paul's next fight will be as part of the Triller Fight Club promotion, although he has said that he is currently a free agent and is open to offers.

The promotion sold 1.5 million pay-per-views when he fought Askren, but the production was criticized for being too driven by musical acts and bizarre sideshows.

Should he choose to return to Triller, he could fight in August on the same card as Evander Holyfield's comeback exhibition against Kevin McBride, or the following month on the undercard of Oscar De La Hoya's return.

His coach BJ Flores, a former cruiserweight world title contender who has trained with David Haye and once fought Tony Bellew for the WBC title, will fly to Puerto Rico in the coming days to join Paul as his comeback gets closer to reality.

Paul is banned from his brother's fight with Mayweather on June 6 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami after inciting a brawl at the pre-fight media day that had the 50-0 legend swinging at the YouTuber.

Speaking with UFC legend Chael Sonnen about the status of his contract with Triller, Paul said: "I'm a free agent, and I think that's the way it should be with all fighters.

"It just sucks to see these young kids, fighters who become UFC champions and they're tied up in contracts where they're owned by the promoter Dana White.

"They're not getting fair pay, they're not getting the fights they want and it's a big problem. How is Arianny Celeste the ring girl making more money than some of the fighters risking their lives.

"It doesn't make sense to me, it's a big problem and I'm hoping to change that and make fighters realise that they are the content, they're the ones the fans are showing up for.

"They're the ones driving these pay-per-views and I'll say it again, they're risking their lives and they should be rewarded for that."
