Iain Stirling has officially started the highly anticipated bronzed bod countdown by uploading a photo of two Love Island water bottles with the caption "Not long now…"

The snap, which appears to have been taken on the Spanish island, shows Iain's and show host Laura's name written in pink on the bottles against a backdrop of a beautiful blue sky and palm trees.

Laura, 36, who married her co-star last year, is looking forward to her second season as the presenter of the smash-hit reality dating show ahead of Love Island's new series this summer.

It seems the stars have aligned and the show will indeed return to the Spanish island of Majorca for the long-awaited 2021 series – as the builders are in to touch up the famous property.

Fans of the smash hit ITV reality romance show were encouraged to see painters and DIY experts sprucing up the villa in advance of a new cast of attractive singletons landing in the sun-soaked location.

ITV appear to have taken the gamble to return to the balearic islands to film the upcoming seventh season of the show – returning to Majorca for the first time in over two years.

Fans are practically ravenous for more scenes of smooching, flirting and arguing – and it is likely all the drama will take place in a freshly renovated environment.

Love Island's Laura Whitmore and Iain Stirling appear to be out in Majorca already

Love Island was last filmed in Spain way back in 2019 – when Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea were crowned winners ahead of Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury.

A winter edition of the show was filmed at the beginning of 2020 in South Africa before the Covid-19 pandemic brought chaos to international travel.

A brand new full length advert for the programme 2021 was recently released rousing the show's millions of fans.

In the new clip, show narrator and comedian Iain, 33, can be seen pulling up in a red Jeep with a LOVE numberplate.

The arrival spooks one unsuspecting shopper, who spills her bag of aubergines and peaches – emojis often used when sending sexy texts – all over the floor.

Laura, who took over presenting the show from tragic Caroline Flack in 2020, jumps out of the car and using a mallet, smashes an emergency alarm marked 'In case of Love Island Crack On'.

Fans of the dating series will no doubt rejoice at the news after last year’s series was cancelled for the first time in the show’s history due to the global Covid-19 pandemic.

Love Island returns this summer on ITV2 and ITV Hub

Of course the rumour mill has been churning with various Instagram models are speculated to be among the cast.
