A woman was dismayed after going on a Tinder date with a 'normal' man who said that his wife had died – but she soon learned that she hadn't and that they were actually still together.
TikTok user Sissyhankshaw explained that she had met a 25-year-old school teacher and that to begin with everything seemed great – he was a runner, he was nice, and she had high hopes.
The man said how he had a son, and that sadly the boy's mother had passed away in a tragic accident – and the TikTok user said she became curious about how so she did a deep dive on the late wife's profile.
But then she noticed that the supposedly dead wife was still uploading pictures to Instagram, and it emerged that she wasn't dead and was in fact still in a relationship with the man.
TikTok user Sissyhankshaw went on a Tinder date with man who said his wife was dead
Sharing her story online, the woman said: "I went on a Tinder date with this guy who was a teacher. He was 25, he taught school kids and I'm like 'oh that's so sweet'.
"He had a son, he said that his son's mother had passed away tragically she was dead, he was a single dad – how horrible.
"The other teachers would watch his kid when he would go on dates I was like, 'oh that's so sweet – how nice of them'. He liked running, he seemed like a normal person.
"And I, of course, had an Instagram stalk to see how this tragic story unfolded because I love things like that.

"I went to stalk her on Instagram and I went back to show my friend and looked back on a different day and when I did she had new posts and so I stalked even further.
"and found her whole family and career history on the internet. Turns out she was not dead at all. She was very much alive, and they were very much together in a relationship.
"And he was so normal, he was the most normal person I've been on a date with in a long time.

"I confronted him about it and told him that he lied and that she was actually alive and I was like, 'what the f*** dude?' And he told me that I was lying and that she was actually dead. She's alive."
After posting the story on TikTok, the woman was soon inundated with comments from people – some of whom had gone through similar incidents.
One person wrote: "Oh wow, that's like serial killer vibes."
And another added: "I had a week-long fling with somebody once who told me his wife was dead, now I'm thinking back like – 'was she just out of town'?"
While a third added: "The normal-seeming ones are always so much more creepy to me."
After a while, viewers started to ask if Sissyhankshaw had contacted the wife, to which she said "I messaged her on Instagram" before adding that the woman never read the post.
