A couple with a 37-year age gap are standing up to trolls who brand their relationship "disgusting."

US-based 23-year-old Quran regularly flaunts his relationship with 60-year-old Cheryl on TikTok, where he has amassed 416,000 followers.

Despite insisting they are in love, they often receive messages from people who question how genuine their relationship, with some claiming he must only be with her because she's 'rich'.

Whereas others cruelly comment on Cheryl's appearance, saying she looks more like Quran's grandmother.

In a recent video, which has since been viewed more than 3.7 million times, the couple responds to the question "do your family approve of y'all dating?", which was asked by a viewer.

In unison, they say "yeah", revealing that her children – who he has said are all older than him – are happy for them.

Quran often posts videos defending Cheryl, including one clip captioned "me defending my girl in the comments section" which sees him chuck a broom and cup at the phone camera.

Among negative comments, many TikTok users have rushed to their defence, leaving messages of support.

One person said: "Some people just can't handle seeing someone happy – it makes them realise how miserable they are themselves."

"Why does it matter as long as y'all are happy and love each other?" added another viewer.

A third shared: "I wish you nothing but the best."

This comes as a woman hit back at haters who criticised her relationship with her plus-size partner.

Sienna Keera, from Australia, moved to the UK to be with her now-fiance George Keywood, who previously appeared on BBC sitcom People Just Do Nothing, after meeting on Instagram.

And now the pair keep people updated with their relationship on TikTok where they post videos of their one-year-old baby boy, Oliver.

But that hasn't stopped people calling Sienna a "gold digger," and her partner George constantly being told that he's "punching".
