Kieran Trippier is set to play at left-back in England's Euro 2020 opener against Croatia as a leaked team has emerged online.

Gareth Southgate's men are set to kick off their campaign on Sunday afternoon as they look for revenge against the team that put them out of the 2018 World Cup.

And the England boss is reportedly set to make a few surprise calls with Atletico Madrid's Tripper playing left-back over Ben Chilwell of Chelsea and Manchester United's Luke Shaw, according to The Athletic.

Jack Grealish, who has been a standout for the Three Lions since he has been integrated into the national set-up, is also set to miss out on a starting berth as the Aston Villa midfielder is left on the bench.

Trippier played last week's friendly against Austria at left-back as Southgate also deployed him in that position for the final 24 minutes of the follow up warm-up game against Romania.

It was believed Trippier was used there because Shaw and Chilwell were unavailable for selection as their respective sides reached the Europa League and Champions League finals.

But Southgate has decided to stick with the former Spurs man despite it not being his natural position.

This might be why the England boss decided to call up four right-backs including Trippier, Kyle Walker, Reece James and Trent Alexander-Arnold before the latter would be replaced by Ben White due to injury.

Trippier will be in a back four alongside Walker with Tyrone Mings and Manchester City's John Stones the centre-back partnership against the Croats.

West Ham rising star Declan Rice and Leeds United's Kalvin Phillips will protect the defence in midfield with Mason Mount, Raheem Sterling and Phil Foden supporting Harry Kane in attack.
