Peter Andre has hinted his daughter Princess could follow in his footsteps – and to a lesser extent, those of her mother, Katie Price – by launching a future music career.

The 48-year-old TV star shot to fame in the 1990s with the release of his reggae infused pop smash Mysterious Girl – which made him a household name to millions.

Peter has two children with 43-year-old ex-wife Katie Price – 13-year-old daughter Princess and their 16-year-old son, Junior.

Speaking about his children in a new interview, Peter revealed Princess is following in his music footsteps – and fans will recall, of course, that Katie herself dipped her toes into the world of music, releasing various singles over the past 15 years, and even an album with Peter that was released in 2006.

Katie also famously launched a failed attempt to represent the UK at Eurovision back in 2005 – when she was pregnant with Junior at the time.

Discussing Princess and her future, Peter told OK! magazine: “She’s worked really hard and now that she’s got a music scholarship at her school for next year she’ll thrive. I’m really proud of her.”

The news of her music abilities echoes that of son Junior who also aspires to make music.

In the same interview, which saw father and son quizzed together, Junior said he hopes to release music in the future as well as balance an acting career.

He said: “On The Other Foot was my first film, which will be out later this year, and I was very lucky to have some lines because normally I would have been an extra. It was a good learning experience and hopefully it’s the start of many more movies.

“Ideally when I’m older I’ll be doing music and acting, but right now my focus is on acting.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Junior suggested Peter shows favouritism to Princess in the way he brings them both up.

His rationale lay in the fact that Princess is allowed to take her personal mobile phone to her room, whereas Junior is banned from doing so.

Defending his approach to parenting, Pete declared: “She’s very good with her phone and always leaves it downstairs all night.

“With Instagram, [Princess] went against my rules going public and when she came back to my house she was worried that she would lose all her followers if she had to go private, so we came up with a compromise, which was Junior’s idea, to turn off the comments.

“I wanted them both to be private until they were 14, just so I could see I was happy with what they were posting. In two weeks when she turns 14 she can have the comments on and can take her phone to her room, which is a big deal for her.”
