Richard Madeley has revealed his wife Judy Finnigan, 73, "loves" no longer appearing on TV, admitting she "hated fame".
The 65-year-old star and his other half are one of the UK’s most famous presenting duos having hosted ITV stalwart This Morning from 1988 to 2001 before fronting their own show, Richard & Judy, on Channel 4 from 2001 to 2008.
Appearing on Monday’s Lorraine, presenter Richard reflected on their four decades long telly career and claimed Judy was a "reluctant host".
He shared: "People still want her to come back and do TV but she's not having it, she loves not being on telly.
Richard Madeley has said his wife Judy Finnigan is glad to no longer present on TV as she hated the 'fame'
"Despite her talent as a presenter, she was the most reluctant presenter you'd ever meet. She hated the fame, she hated being recognised.
"She enjoyed the job but when it was over, she wanted to just go home and be Judy."
Although Judy’s TV appearances are few and far between, Richard is a regular guest host on Good Morning Britain.
During the candid chat, Richard also insisted that he won’t be replacing Piers Morgan’s seat at GMB full-time after the broadcaster’s sudden departure in March.

Richard Madeley says permanent position on Good Morning Britain is 'not on the agenda'
He said: "I'm basically doing what I did before which is to fill in.
"Everybody speculates on what's going on, but I know no more than you do. I'm very happy to do it the way I'm doing it at the moment."
Adding: "I've always enjoyed it. I love the show, I used to sit in for Piers around about 2017 so four years ago.
"Piers was meant to go to America last year before Covid and he didn't go anywhere, well… in the end…
"Those opportunities were shut down. It's a lovely team. I get on really well with the other presenters. It's great to be back in a suit and tie working again."

Aside from his career, Richard reflected on his youthful appearance, which he said he inherited from his mother Mary.
He said: "In my head, I feel about 30. My mum who died a few years ago, even close to the end she still looked amazing.
"She always looked much younger than she was, that was just in her genes. If I do look a bit younger than 65, it'll be because of mummy, I'll have inherited something from her."
Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV at 9am.
