Netflix has released the trailer for brand new dating series Sexy Beasts – but it appears fans have been left divided over it.

The bizarre teaser video landed on their Twitter page today and it has already caused a storm on the social media site amongst baffled fans.

Sexy Beasts brings a whole new concept to blind dating, as eager singletons enjoy going on a series of dates, but in a shocking twist, the daters are hiding their identity underneath realistic animal prosthetics.

"Welcome to the strangest blind date ever," a voice says over the trailer. "Could you fall in love with someone based on personality alone?"

The video clip goes on to tease scenes from the new series, with glimpses at some of the contestants going on normal dates, including bowling, but their faces are hidden behind the cutting-edge prosthetics.

The cast includes a shark, devil, scarecrow, mouse and panda – as well as many more incredible animals.

One of the singletons can be heard saying: "You're the best-looking devil I've ever seen," before she laughs back: "This is really weird right now."

Another contestant asked: "What if I pick you and I'm not what you expect underneath?"

One person shared: "You cancel decent programmes and churn out this s***e!"

"WHAT THE F**K," another shocked fan added.
