It's the news his fans have been waiting for. Ed Sheeran is officially back.
The Shape of You singer has spent the last few years out of the spotlight following a record-breaking two year Divide tour but he looks like he means business once again – as can be seen in these previously unseen shots from his new Bad Habits music video.
Ed, 30, who also welcomed his daughter to the world last September during his break from the industry, returns with something unexpected yet wholly his.
The tune features an up-tempo, summery sonic alongside his famed-for guitar.
Ed co-wrote and co-produced the new hit with long-time collaborators, Johnny McDaid – who he worked with on Shape of You – and FRED, who worked on No.6 Collaborations Project.

The video sees the singer transform into an alter-ego vampire character, trading his distinct ginger hair for bleached white locks while donning vicious looking fangs for teeth.
The dark-humour narrative serves as a metaphor for bad habits and the singer embarks on a wild night out alongside his crew of ghouls before morphing back to his real self the next morning, along with his precious ginger locks.

Discussing his new release, Ed said: "Feels great to be back with my new single. I wanted the video for Bad Habits to play on the nature of habits in a fantastical way so I decided on vampires.
It was mega fun getting into character except for the heights (that wasn’t so fun). Enjoy"

The star is also currently recording another new album which he hopes will be as much of a huge success as his previous releases.
Last month, Ed topped the bill of Radio 1’s Big Weekend with an exclusive full band performance, filmed at Snape Maltings, Suffolk. During the same month, he was also unveiled as the new shirt sponsor for the men’s and women’s first teams of his beloved Ipswich Town Football Club.
To celebrate the release of Bad Habits, the singer is performing live from Ipswich Town’s Portman Road for TikTok’s UEFA Euro 2020 show, with the show being streamed globally on the social media channel from 9pm.
