Stephanie Davis was at a friend’s wedding just 48 hours before being hospitalised with Covid.

The soap star shared snaps of her and new love Oliver Tasker at the nuptials of pals Rachel and Jack earlier this week with her almost 1 million Instagram fans.

On Thursday night the 28-year-old was rushed to A&E after testing positive for the deadly bug.

Posting videos from her hospital bed with an oxygen mask on, she told fans she felt “like I’ve been run over” and her skin was "killing" her.

Speaking about her ordeal, the former Hollyoaks star said: “I woke up and felt so ill, I had to call an ambulance.

“I’ve tested positive for Covid. I feel like I’ve been ran over. The worst part is that my skin, my front and back of my skin, I can’t touch my skin. It’s killing me.

“I’m in so much pain. Oh my God, this is horrible. It happens so quick, I don’t even know… I just woke up and I couldn’t move.

"Obviously I've never had sore skin before so I thought this isn't a chest infection or what I would normally suffer with my chest. I feel rotten."

A spokesperson for the actor said the mum-of-one has been put on a nebuliser to help with her breathing as she is “at risk because of her underlying asthma”.

They confirmed Stephanie had not yet been vaccinated because of her asthma, allergies and anaphylaxis.

Fans were quick to comment on the wedding post she shared on Instagram, which featured a snap of Stephanie hugging the bride. None of the guests seem to be wearing masks.

One said: “You’ve not even worn masks and hugging everyone and now you have covid, have people learnt nothing.”

Another wrote: “Poor wedding guests now needing to isolate.”

A third Instagram user leapt to the former Hollyoaks star’s defence saying: “Everyone stop about her & masking or not getting the vaccine. You need to be sending prayers not hate.

“I got covid, I wore a mask everywhere. I still managed to get it from a co-worker who also had a mask on.”

Stephanie, who played Hollyoaks character Sinead O’Connor until 2019, could well be exempt from wearing a mask due to her medical conditions.

While Brits with asthma were top of the list for vaccinations due to being more vulnerable, patients with anaphylaxis were advised to seek doctors’ advice before getting the jab.

Anaphylaxis is a severe allergic reaction triggered within minutes of being exposed to something the individual is allergic to. If not treated immediately, it can be life threatening.

Stephanie, who shares three-year-old son Caben-Albie with ex Jeremy McConnell, recently revealed she had spent time in rehab for alcohol issues.

She told fans she needed to take some time out “to figure out this crazy thing called life".
