The match is England's first final since the 1966 World Cup final, which was also played at Wembley.

So far this tournament, Gareth Southgate's team boast the best defensive record, having only conceded one goal – to Denmark in the semi finals.

Prior to that game, England kept clean sheets against Ukraine, Germany, Czech Republic, Scotland and Croatia.

Former Manchester City manger Roberto Mancini's Italy beat Spain and Belgium en route to the final, but will be without Roma's Leonardo Spinazzola, who suffered an achilles tendon injury against Belgium.
