Legendary director David Fincher returns with his black-and-white biography of the legendary screenwriter behind the cinematic classic Citizen Kane, entitled Mank.

In his first film since 2014's Gone Girl, Fincher will look at the relationship between screenwriter Herman J. Mankiewicz and director-actor Orson Welles.

Oscar-winner Gary Oldman portrays the eponymous producer Mankiewicz, as he races to finish the screenplay, and can be seen in the new promo images, released today to celebrate 79 years since studio RKO dubbed this day Citizen Kane day.

Mank also stars Amanda Seyfried, one of Citizen Kane's female inspirations in Marion Davies, and looks every inch the glamorous Hollywood star in the first look images from Netflix.

Elsewhere, Game of Thrones star Charles Dance plays media mogul William Randolph Hearst, the fascinating figure who inspired the film.

Strike star Tom Burke will portray the dominating figure of Citizen Kane director and star Orson Welles.

Others starring in the film are Lily Collins as Rita Alexander, Arliss Howard as film producer Louis B. Mayer, Tom Pelphrey as Herman's brother and legendary director Joseph L. Mankiewicz, Sam Troughton as actor John Houseman, Ferdinand Kingsley as producer Irving Thalberg, and Tuppence Middleton as Herman's wife, Sara Mankiewicz.
