iPhone 13 release date: when is Apple’s 2021 event, and how can I watch it live?

Apple’s iPhone event may no longer be the extravaganza it previously offered up, thanks to Covid-19, but this month we will once again get to see a first glimpse of the technology company’s new devices.

The California company is due to reveal its new iPhone models, which may be called the “iPhone 13” and is likely to come with a Pro version, in the coming weeks. This will be followed shortly after by pre-orders and a full release of its new phones.

The new device will follow last year’s iPhone 12, 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max.

We are still awaiting the final details of the event, but here is everything we know so far about when and where to watch Apple’s 2021 iPhone launch.

When will Apple reveal its new iPhone?

Apple normally sticks to a regular schedule for its iPhone launches, although last year this was pushed back to October due to delays from the Covid-19 pandemic.

This time around, Apple has sent out invites for the event, which will be virtual and take place on Tuesday 14 September at 6pm (BST).

When will the iPhone 13 go on sale?

If Apple does go ahead and launch the new iPhone, you can expect a few days delay between the event and sales kicking off.

Pre-orders are expected to begin on September 17 for the new models of iPhone. Last year, we had to wait a bit longer for some devices, which came later in the year.

On September 24, the Friday after its big reveal, Apple can be expected to put its new iPhone models on sale in its stores.
