Climate group Insulate Britain has announced it will "suspend its campaign of civil resistance" until October 25.
It comes after fighting broke out at the group’s latest stunt on Wednesday, with demonstrators dragged off the roads by drivers near a busy industrial estate in Essex.
In an open letter to Boris Johnson, the organisation said it wanted to "profoundly acknowledge the disruption caused over the past fives weeks".
It also asked the Prime Minister to "do the right thing" and make a "meaningful statement we can trust".
More on this breaking story to come.
