Jeremy Corbyn SACKS frontbencher for ‘comparing Labour to Nazis’ – but won’t kick out racists who do the same with Jews

JEREMY Corbyn has been slammed for sacking a frontbencher after she compared the party to the Nazis – but still failing to act to boot out "racists" in his own party.

Last night Baroness Hayter was kicked out of her role as a shadow Brexit minister after she compared the leftie boss' leadership to the "last days of Hitler".

And she said he was leading the party with a "bunker mentality".

Earlier this week she told a meeting of the centre-left Labour First group: "Those of you who haven't [read the book] will have seen the film Bunker, about the last days of Hitler, where you stop receiving any information into the inner group which suggests that things are not going the way you want."

A Labour spokesman said the remarks were "deeply offensive" and that she has been removed from her position.

In a statement the party said: "Dianne Hayter has been sacked from her front bench position with immediate effect for her deeply offensive remarks about Jeremy Corbyn and his office.

"To compare the Labour leader and Labour Party staff working to elect a Labour government to the Nazi regime is truly contemptible, and grossly insensitive to Jewish staff in particular."

But she remains Labour's deputy leader in the Lords, which is an elected role.

However, furious MPs said it was a "gross over-reaction" to her comments and insisted it showed the party's true hypocrisy on dealing with offensive remarks.

Wes Streeting MP said: "Nice to know that swift action is taken to protect Jeremy Corbyn's feelings, but shame we can't act against racists."

And Jess Phillips added: "Dianne Hayter remains the Deputy Leader of the Labour Lords where I'm sure she will keep on speaking up against anti-Semitism."

It was reported this morning that Baroness Hayter wasn't told about the sacking herself, but found out from the media.

Mr Corbyn didn't speak to her or ask her to explain her remarks.

The party has been embroiled in a fresh anti-Semitism storm since the release of a BBC Panorama documentary last week which alleged that top Labour aides interfered in cases.

Mr Corbyn has faced fresh calls to quit over his failure to deal with the problem.

Yesterday more than 60 Labour peers took out a full page advert in the Guardian to attack his failed leadership.

Theresa May brandished it in the Commons at PMQs and demanded he apologise.

A gross over-reaction to what @HayteratLords actually said – but does reinforce what she did describe, which was a bunker mentality at the top. This epitomises it. Labour has denied the allegations and claimed the BBC has been "biased" in its making of the show.

It claims it takes all allegations of anti-Semitism seriously, and has also threatened to make an official complaint to the Beeb about the documentary.
