THE Easter bank holiday weekend is set to be even hotter than Majorca with up to 24C predicted for Good Friday – and the heatwave could last weeks.
Weather forecasters say the mercury is set to reach above 20C over the weekend – with "above average" temperatures possibly continuing into May.

Sunny and dry conditions will been seen across much of the UK during the four-day holiday weekend.
Parts of the South East and London could reach highs of 24C, some forecasters say, but even Cardiff and parts of Northern Ireland will see temperatures reach 21C on Saturday.
The UK could be hotter than St Tropez in the south of France, Corfu, Bodrum in southern Turkey, Spanish tourism hotspot Marbella, and the island of Majorca which is to be cloudy on Saturday and Sunday.
Only parts of the North West and East coast will experience slightly cooler conditions.
In Glasgow and Aberdeen, temperatures could climb to 20C, despite the UK average for this time of year being 11.5C.
The Met Office 30-day forecast predicts May temperatures to be "above average", following on from the "very warm" Easter weekend.
Temperatures should stay warm for the rest of April, but with some showers among the "drier, brighter spells".
Forecaster Simon Partridge said Brits will be treated to a sunny Good Friday – with experts predicting it could be the hottest day of the year so far.

He said: "After a chilly spell this weekend, we are going to see temperatures gradually increase through the week.
"By the weekend we could see in parts of the country temperatures of around 20C, or just above."
The highest temperature ever recorded for an Easter weekend is 27.8C which occurred in two different years.
The first was in Heathrow, west London and Mildenhall, Suffolk in 1949 and the second was recorded Wisley, Surrey in 2011.
Experts say hay fever season has landed three weeks early this year after an unusually warm winter, which saw temperatures soar to 21C.
It means birch tree pollen – which affects one in four hay fever sufferers – is already being released across the country.
Experts say that's bad news for 3.3million people whose asthma is worsened by pollen and warn sufferers to take extra care.
The Express reports Eleanor Bell, meteorologist for The Weather Company, said: “Temperatures are expected to rise above normal across the British Isles this week peaking over the Easter weekend.
We are going to see temperatures gradually increase through the week.

“A drier end to the week is expected with high pressure over Scandinavia ridging westwards across Britain.
“Plenty of sunshine is expected for Good Friday with maximum temperatures expected to lift into the high teens to low 20Cs widely."
And Exacta forecaster James Madden predicts the warm weather will remain for the rest of April, and continue into May.
But today will see a miserable day of rain and winds before the country heats up just in time for Easter.
Despite the cool breeze in the air, the mercury could rise to 14C in some areas including Peterborough and London.
This evening is expected to be cloudy for many with outbreaks of rain in the west and north-west.

But it should be dry with clear spells later in the day in south-west England and north-east Scotland.
A Scandinavian ice blast sunk temperatures down to -5C in some parts this week.
The mercury sunk to a biting -6C in Cumbria over the past few days, as Brits woke to a widespread frost this morning amid the ongoing polar plunge.
