Atletico Madrid have reportedly offered Saul Niguez to Manchester City in exchange for Bernardo Silva.
The La Liga side have been a long-term admirer of the Portuguese midfielder and are keen to sign him in the upcoming transfer window.
it's claimed Silva asked to leave the Etihad before last summer's window as he expressed his desire to test himself in another league.
12 months on, his stance has not changed as he remains unsettled in Manchester.
And according to The Times, Atletico have emerged as a potential suitor and are interested in proposing a swap deal with Saul Niguez which would be beneficial to both sides in terms of Financial Fair Play.

Saul, who is also said to be on the lookout for a new club, is valued at £60million by Atletico.
Silva has been a regular in Pep Guardiola's side since arriving from Monaco in 2017 for a reported £43.5m fee as he did his part to help City win the Premier League last season.
Saul was also a part of a title-winning side with Diego Simeone's men last term but his future at the club has been up in the air for the past year or so.

The 26-year-old was linked with a move to City's rivals Manchester United for the majority of last summer, but nothing materialised as he ended up staying in Spain's capital.
And those rumours of a move to Old Trafford have resurfaced with Mundo Deportivo claiming the Red Devils have 'always dreamed' of acquiring Saul's services.
The report states Saul is 'determined' to part ways with Atletico this summer despite his current deal, which has a £130m release clause, expiring in 2026.

For City, Silva is not the only player that has been linked with an exit as the club plan to overhaul their squad in the upcoming window in an attempt to continue their dominance from last season.
Arsenal were said to be interested in wingers Riyad Mahrez and Raheem Sterling, which the former has swiftly dismissed.
Talking to DZ Sport following his nation’s 1-0 victory against Mali, he said: “There is nothing about my future. I am well in Manchester. I will stay God willing."
Speaking ahead of last month’s Champions League final, Mahrez was asked about his plans for the future, claiming he hopes to retire as a City player.
He said: "I feel great at Manchester City, and I have no wish to look elsewhere.
"I don't yet know what my situation will be, but I am happy at City – and they are the club where I want to be.
"People have spoken about me ending my career with Marseille, but that is not something I think about.
"I want to finish my career in England, with City."
